Danish singer-songwriter Agnes Obel will release a new album, Citizen of Glass, on Oct. 21 via PIAS Recordings. Citizen of Glass is the musician's follow-up to her 2013 collection, Aventine, which peaked at No. 1 on both the Danish and Belgian album charts. Obel tours the States in 2017.

Last week, Obel dropped Citizen of Glass' second single, "Golden Green," which follows this summer's release of first Citizen single, "Familiar." Watch the epic video for "Familiar" below and listen to "Golden Green" on your preferred music outlet at smarturl.it/goldengreen.

Obel, who is currently based in Berlin and frequently headlines concerts and festivals throughout Europe, has sold over a million copies of her last two records, Aventine and 2010's Philharmonics. Her "hauntingly beautiful" music has been cited as a favorite of avant-garde tastemakers like America's surrealist champion and Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me director, David Lynch.

In a recent piece from the Telegraph, Agnes Obel discussed her musical upbringing with journalist Jessica Salter, recalling her formative years surrounded by the classical arts:

"My father collects instruments and my mother is a very good pianist, so music was all around when I was growing up. I started playing when I was about six, but it was just having fun; it wasn't serious. We didn't talk about music as something that was work -- it was something you did because you loved it."

Late last year, Obel spoke with Filler about her work. On the topic of her worldwide touring schedule, Agnes recounted the collective power of her live performances:

"Sometimes I find [the stage] can be even more powerful than the studio because you have no control and everything is happening in that very moment," says Obel. "When a concert is good, it's a communal experience -- it's not just something you feel by yourself."
