The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra revealed on Monday its newest member addition in up-and-coming San Francisco Bay Area violinist Eunice Kim. The latest performer announcement from Minnesota's full-time professional chamber orchestra comes on the heels of another recent SPCO instrumentalist induction, the orchestra's installment of Francisco Fullana as principal violin.

According to classical mentoring firm Astral Artists, Kim has previously performed with the Albany Symphony Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Louisville Symphony. She also frequently sits in as a guest artist at the renowned Radiohead-covering pianist Christopher O'Riley's Tippet Rise Art Center in Fishtail, Montana. Further, she has received performance awards from multiple classical competitions such as the Korea Times String competition, the California International Violin competition and even the Pacific Music Society.

Minneapolis online newspaper MinnPost offered further detail on Kim's background and musical education, highlighting the classical musician's orchestral performance debut at a young age:

"Just two weeks after announcing the appointment of Francisco Fullana as principal violin, the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra has named violinist Eunice Kim its newest member. A recent graduate of the Curtis Institute, and a native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Kim made her solo debut at age 7 with the Korean Broadcasting Symphony Orchestra and has since become an accomplished soloist and chamber musician."

The St. Paul Pioneer Press quoted SPCO's artistic director as commending Kim's instrumental talent within a chamber orchestra setting, praising Kim in a congratulatory press statement:

"Eunice is a remarkable violinist and deeply impressed the audition committee with her supple, sensitive playing, flawless technique and incredible chamber music skills," said SPCO artistic director Kyu-Young Kim in a news release.
