Art comes in all kinds of shapes, sizes and styles using the most common to the most weird element at the disposal of the artist. Sometimes artist's vision is expressed in unusual ways, one such modern artwork uses "period" blood as paint!

According to Mail Online Timi Pall, a Romanian artist has come up with this heart-touching painting of an unborn child created by nine months of menstrual blood. As claimed by the artist, the only other materials put into the service were used tampons and her own hands.

It took Pall nine months to deliver this masterpiece and its truly her 'Labour of love'. Each month one canvas was painted and at the end of nine months all of them magically fitted together resulting in a grand jigsaw puzzle. It is one of the most surreal paintings in recent times. The artwork is aptly named "The Diary of My Period" and it fittingly represents the artist's unique vision.

Ms.Pall, a graphic designer by profession has been reportedly inspired by the purpose of her period blood and it led her to come up with this wonderful piece of art. In her own words, "One drop of experiment and I realize the beauty of the pain, the value of the period, fertilizing my whole being."

Pall shared the pictures on her Facebook wall expressing her belief that there is nothing cringe-worthy about period blood. She said the death of an ovum was a big thing for many women and to commemorate that phenomenon, this work of art was born. She said it will be the audience that will see, talk and breathe on behalf of the silent unborn baby.

As reported in Metro, Menstrual blood has come into play earlier by Jess Cummin, a student at the Glasgow School of Art and Design who used it to create paintings in 2015. Ancient female cave paintings majorly inspired her artwork. Despite some people finding it gross, Jess felt it was no different than the usage of oils and charcoal for a painting.

These paintings are very personal in nature and not everyone will agree with its method or philosophy but this imagery will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on the viewer's mind.
