Paris Jackson Opens Up On Michael Jackson’s Death, Her Suicide Attempts and Justin Bieber In Rolling Stone Tell All

By Timothy Jay Ibay on Jan 25, 2017 10:04 AM EST

Formerly recluse Paris Jackson, daughter of the late King of Pop Michael Jackson, recently graced the cover of Rolling Stone, ushering in 2017 with her first-ever in-depth interview. The lengthy feature, titled “Life After Neverland,” has the 18-year-old speaking up on a slew of various topics that include her father’s death, her suicide attempts, and Justin Bieber, among others.

Paris admitted to still not being over losing her father, confiding that he still visits her in her dreams and that time did not heal that particular wound. Paris also said that she believes her father was murdered. She did, however, say that one positive thing to come out of the unfortunate event is that nothing will ever be as bad as losing the most important thing in her life.

Another notable excerpt from the Rolling Stone interview was Paris’ recollection of being scared for Justin Bieber after seeing the “Sorry” singer perform during his “This Is It” tour. Paris told Rolling Stone that Bieber appeared exhausted and going through the motions during the performance, which, as noted by ETOnline.com, reminded her of how her father was exhausted all the time and could not sleep.

Four years after her father passed away, Paris made headlines when she cut her wrists. According to ET Online, the then 15-year-old also ingested 20 Motrin pills. But while that was a very public incident, Paris admits that cutting herself had become a habit at the time. “It was just self-hatred, low self-esteem, thinking that I couldn’t do anything right, not thinking I was worthy of living anymore,” she told Rolling Stone.

After battling depression and drug abuse, Paris says she is now completely sober. She has ventured into the world of modeling, recently making her debut at Paris Fashion Week. Paris said that while a number of people say she’s ugly, modeling has a way of making her forget about her self-esteem issues. You can read the full feature on Paris here.
