"Deadpool" exists in his own story and universe, a part of a larger "X-Men" universe. It deals with a present time, unlike any other "X-Men" franchise that happened in the '60s, in 70's and in the future.

"Deadpool 2" movie is going to be fun with its breaking rules ambiance. Involving the leading hero Dead Pool knows that he is in the movie such as talking to the audience, breaking forth comedies and making fun of his villains.

"The good thing about Deadpool is, it exists in his own universe. He's always been a part of the larger X-Men universe, but in a way, he isn't. He also revolves around that world but he is in the present. We don't have time to deal with the '60s or the '70s or the future. I know the guy is going to have his fun with what they do in the other franchise. But fortunately, we don't have to play by those same rules," said writer Paul Wernick in an interview with Cinema Blend.

Writers of the movie once stated that they have found a solution to the problems about the multiple timeline stories in "X-Men" franchises which is to ignore it, stay simple and make jokes. In the original story of "Deadpool," Colossus recruited him must be brought Professor X, and then Deadpool asked "McAvoy or Stewart?" This kind of humor won't be missed in "Deadpool 2."
