A Blockbuster Film ‘The Great Wall’ Fails To Claim The Win Against 'Lego Batman' at US Box Office Theaters

'The Great Wall' starring Matt Damon fails to get audience's attention in its first week release at US Box Office Theaters. Considering its series of blockbuster conveying an epic story, this film have a poor rating to start with. And also Matt Damon who is being known as a great action hero in her previous movie 'The Martian' and series of 'The Bourne' is not good enough to gather the crowd.

In the first week of its debut at US theaters, 'The Great Wall' fails to defend itself against Lego Batman. This film only get about $21 million collected from more than 3,325 theaters. It was just enough to get it to the third rank below 'Lego Batman' and 'Fifty Shades Darker'. And it even worse retracing that it can't take the win from 'Lego Batman' which is already on its second week.

'The Great Wall' is expected to be a remarkable work for it take US and Chinese production to make it on roll. Zang Yimou, the director who is for the first time direct an English film, certified that $150 million is spend to bring forth superb scenes. However, it is rather difficult to find the exhilarating and exciting section from this 100 minutes and more long film.

Since its release in China, 'The Great Wall' has been hit by criticism. It is due to Matt Damon taking the lead role fall under suspicion that it is an act of whitewashing. Damon plays the roles as European mercenary who is in a mission searching for black powder during Song dynasty then encounter Chinese soldier who is in defend against monster.

Then, for he takes the lead for the soldiers that it is presumed as a scene showing the white savior protect Asian. However, it is not the problem now, the audience just see the movie as an awful one away from what is expected.
