‘Game of Thrones’ Season 7 Theories: Will Littlefinger Survive?

By Kristine Garcia on Feb 28, 2017 11:17 AM EST

“Game of Thrones” is one of HBO’s most successful series and a strong return of fantasy on the small screen. King’s Landing is left in havoc, the crown is ripe for the taking and all the contenders are ready for one last big battle.

IBCC Viking News brings about one of the biggest questions to have arisen among “Game of Thrones” fans in the last few weeks -- the future of Petyr 'Littlefinger' Baelish (Aidan Gillen). After successfully gaining control of the Knights of the Vale and aiding Jon Snow (Kit Harington) in the battle of the bastards, Baelish has proven himself as a cunning politician and master of intrigue. But will this play a bad joke on him?

Baelish is infamous for his treachery, against the Starks in the first season. After that, betraying the Lanisters and in the end, causing the death of the Lysa Arryn (Kate Dickie). Will all his foul deeds finally catch up? Will someone finally prove cautious enough when dealing with Baelish to not allow things to go his way?

Vanity Fair shares disturbing news about the future development in “Game of Thrones” Season 7.
A statement made by Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark in the HBO fantasy series, shares that the look which Littlefinger and Sansa share after the battle of the bastards has a lot of power in it.

Jon Snow may have given up on all title claims in favor of his sister, but Baelish is still pouring poison words in her ear. That is why she may have decided to keep the knights of the vale a secret to the very last. Baelish and Sansa may be plotting to take over the North and then, all of Westeros.

Conleth Hill, who plays Varys on “Game of Thrones”, has answered the question of a possible meet-up between Varys and Littlefinger in the coming episodes of the series. To this he answered that he loved working with Aidan Gillen and looks forward to another meeting between the two. After a short pause, he added “But not definite”.

This has placed fans of the series in a position of constant theorizing of Baelish’s future in the series. The common theory now is that the short added statement by Hill means that the two may have a meeting planned, but Littlefinger will perish shortly before it. How will this happen, there are tens of theories, stretching from Sansa assassinating him, to Arya (Maisie Williams) taking justice in her own hands, to an ‘unfortunate accident’ right before the meeting of the two characters. “Game of Thrones” Season 7 will be launched in spring of 2017 on HBO.
