On last week's episode, Rayna James (Connie Britton) surprised fans as she got into a severe car crash and laid on the hospital bed. When fans started to calm down knowing Raina started to recover, she suddenly let her last breath due to suffering from complications. It makes them wonder what will happen next. Will Britton completely give a kiss goodbye to her five years character?

Therefore, in her first appearance after leaving from "Nashville", Britton shared her reason for this decision. Been long considering to quit, she realized that now is the right time. She also has discussed it with the producers and finally arrives at this option.

With teary eyes said in The Hollywood Reporter, Britton tells her sadness to leave Nashville family that had been with her for quite long. Stephen Colbert did suggest Connie Britton make her come back to Nashville. By showing up as Rayna's twin sister is probably not a bad idea as he said. Britton accepted it as a brilliant idea. However, she said dejectedly Rayna is truly dead. The character will continue to be remembered, she added.

Previously, Britton has insisted that this show moving from ABC to CMT is not her reason to go. Reported in TV Line, Britton were excited to carry on her role for this fifth season. Seeing fans enthusiasm, she was confident that it will gain more viewers for this time around. However, for the unsaid reason, she has to leave the show.

The Christian Post said that this decision is also a sad news for producers. But, they appreciate Britton decisions and put the best end to her character. To the fans, producers assure that it will be shown more challenging stories for the upcoming episodes.
