Victoria Beckham Receives OBE From Prince William For Her Services To Fashion And Charity Work
Former pop star turned fashion designer Victoria Beckham had been honored with the OBE by Prince William on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II for her services to fashion and charity work at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday.
Victoria Beckham received the honor because of her extraordinary service to the fashion industry. Her 17-year long career in fashion and hard work deserve to be honored with the "Most Excellent Order of the British Empire".
She also became a UN goodwill ambassador in September 2014 for an AIDS charity. Victoria Beckham is also a patron of the Elton John Aids Foundation and supports the animal charity Peta and Save the Children.
According to BBC News, Victoria Beckham was accompanied by her husband David Beckham and her parents, during the ceremony at the Buckingham palace, when she was getting honored by her friend the Prince of Wales. Reports stated that she was wearing a navy gown and burgundy heels from her upcoming 2017 collection.
Victoria Beckham became famous due to her '90s stint as one of the members of Spice Girls. But she transformed her skill from singing to fashion designing. In 2008, for the very first time Victoria Beckham launched her fashion label and in 2011, she was already known for winning the Designer Brand of the Year Award at British Fashion Awards.
According to Sky News, several reports stated that Victoria Beckham was very pleased to have received the award at a ceremony at Buckingham Palace. Victoria mentioned that she is very proud to be British and also humbled and honored to receive her OBE from Prince William. Thanking her husband, parents and her family, Victoria Beckham gave a beautiful message to the audience saying, anyone can achieve great things if they dream big and work hard.
Victoria Beckham's name will be enlisted with the former recipients of OBE along with the former athlete Olympic star Jessica Ennis-Hill and celebrated actor the Tony Award winner, Mark Rylance.
