'The Scullery Maid' Gets Its Cast for the Chicago Premiere

The Chicago premiere of "The Scullery Maid" has finally got its full casting details. Written by playwright Joseph Zattelmaier, the production is all set to be staged at the Idle Music Theatre Company. Interestingly, this is the theater's eleventh season featuring the play. The production will run from March 16 to April 9, 2017, at the Edge Theatre with previews organized on March 16, 17.

Joseph Zettelmaier is a Michigan-based playwright and four-time nominee for the American Theatre Critics Association Award. Some of his renowned works include "The Stillness Between Breaths," "All Childish Things," "It Came From Mars," "Language Lessons," and "Dead Man's Shoes."

Broadway World explored the detailed casting list of "The Scullery Maid." Directed by Idle Muse Artistic Director, Evan Jackson, the cast list includes Lydia Hiller as Miriam, Dave Skvarla as King Edward III, Anne Marie Lewis as Bess, Leslie Hull as Dulcie, and George Ellison as Pascal.

"The Scullery Maid" is a medieval thriller that revolves a lowly servant who plots to assassinate England's king, Daily Herald described. The play explores the self-definition of women who lives in a world that is centered around men. Among one is King Edward who facing an uneasy situation with France. But then, he has one more trouble in his own castle. Miriam, the lowliest scullery maid of Nottingham Palace is plotting a murder plan to kill him before the dawn. The plot is laced with loyalties, new betrayals, and the unraveling conspiracies. The triller also provides a deep insight on the religious, political and familial identity clashes.

The tickets for "The Scullery Maid" are priced at $20 for adults and $15 for students/seniors.-for previews it is $10 per ticket. Established in 2006, Idle Muse Theatre Company is a non-profit charity organization focussed on producing theater works that have a slice of realities.
