In the upcoming 2017 season, Santa Fe Opera will feature the tangled personal and professional life of the Apple founder Steve Jobs. The opera, "The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs" is composed by Mason Bates. A former writer for orchestra and voice, Mason Bates is a digital sphere worker, DJ, and composer of nontraditional devices.

According to Los Angeles Times, the 38 years old composer told that Steve Jobs' life story can create versatile ways for new sounds in opera. Search of the creative technologist who touched the human's life with creativity and technology advancement led Mason to compose "The (R) evolution of Steve Jobs". In a statement, the opera company stated that the opera has centralized the idea of Steve Jobs' life when he realized his own mortality. It will be showing that Steve is remembering the past events and incidents along with those people who had inspired and summarized his life.

After movies, novels and countless books on Steve Jobs' life, this is the high time when a full-length opera will exhibit the up and downs of late entrepreneur Steve Jobs' career. It will also feature his relations with wife Lauren Powell, father Paul and his initially disavowed daughter. Steve Jobs' biography by Walter Isaacson, was a top selling book as well. It was released in 2011 after the death of the Apple founder. Apart from these, a movie "Steve Jobs", written by Aaron Sorkin, will release in October 2017.

According to WQXR, Mason Bates, librettist Mark Campbell and the director Kevin Newbury has established a solid emotional, trendy and nontraditional ground through the opera. In line with Bates, the main theme is: his life was still messy though Steve Jobs tried to make our life seamless, tidy and stylish. It's the competition between simplified and complicated life.

The date of casting for "The (R) evolution of Steve Jobs" is yet to be announced, though resources claim that there will be a private workshop in September in Northern California. So we are looking forward to taking the glimpse of our new opera hero Steve Jobs' life through a new horizon.
