Mahjong, A Game With More Than A Century of Age; A Game of Fun, Not Just Pure Gamble

A century old game Mahjong was introduced to our culture by the Chinese and it has different versions. We play it for fun and to enhance critical thinking skills, others play it to gamble.  In some places in south New Jersey, Mahjong gives time for women to socialize, make friends.

The game itself was traditionally played with four players; this is a game of pure skills, some sort of strategy and a little bit touch from the power of luck. We can find beauty and poetry in the game. Mahjong is both a collaborative and collective game as players work together to shuffle its tiles, building the walls, dealing with the tiles and distributing it from one to another.

It's somewhat a game that makes you think hard. Not just a pure gambling experience; knowledge can also be applied when playing the game. It's not a pure game of luck but a game of experience and people with more experience were used to encounter critical situations, as stated by Kotaku.

Mahjong's popularity has grown as some younger people want to learn to play it. Chinese mahjong was played by men traditionally and it differs from the American mahjong, in which women can play.

Mahjong is always a game that stays in the family over the years. People who play mahjong have learned how to play the game from their parents. The game is often passed down from father to son and from mother to daughter.

Find a friend who has a mahjong set, learn it or even ask them to teach you how to play it. Mahjong is worth your time. All you need to do is just to sit around, observe and drink some tea. Mahjong is purely an experience strategy game but it's not for everyone. Some people use more strategy than luck to avoid gambling and to have more fun. Others use mind calculations rather than just tapping the tiles.

Mahjong is a game for powerful minds, according to Press of Atlantic City. The game itself brought people together, connects different culture, make friends with different ages and boost your inner skills. This game is not just about gambling, but if it does become one if you let the game eat you. Have fun with the game and do not take it too seriously.

The world is not ours, sometimes we play it with the fortune in our hands, and sometimes we feel unlucky. But the important thing is, you learn experience from the game that can be applied in our daily lives.
