Still a band of brothers after 15 years, the "Lord of the Rings" movie cast endured their friendship even after the film was shown. The camaraderie between the cast members was preserved and their bond was stronger than before. A day ago, Dominic Monaghan, who played Merry in the fantasy film, posted a picture of them on Instagram.

Other "Lord of the Rings" cast members spotted in the photo were Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn), Elijah Wood (Frodo), Orlando Bloom (Legolas) and Billy Boyd (Pippin). Based on the picture, they did a funny pose and mimicked their characters' stance. Viggo used a fork and a knife while on the stance of pulling out a bow string. The other three were on a battle stance and their face looks ready to fight someone.

The film "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" celebrated its 15 years last month according to IGN. The cast even stated that "they have carried on their friendship for longer than Frodo carried the ring to Mordor". It is one of the most successful franchises that come from a novel.

"The Lord of the Rings" trilogy was written by J.R.R Tolkien and the movie adaptation was directed by Peter Jackson. The film had won four Oscars already and received 122 nominations in the past. This clearly shows that the movie is indeed a great one. Its popularity on both audiences, as well as the new viewers, is still high despite the years that passed since its premiere.

Aside from "The Lord of the Rings", one of J.R.R Tolkiens book was also made into a film. "The Hobbit," which served as a prequel to "The Lord of the Rings" film trilogy. It features the little hobbit Bilbo Baggins, portrayed by Martin Freeman, during his younger years. The movie had three Oscar nominations and several awards as well.
