Kristen Stewart, the "Twilight" actress recently directed her debut film "Come Swim" and it is rumored to be inspired by her own long lost relationship and its pain. Premiering at the Sundance Film Festival, the short film raised enough curiosity and buzz.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, the 26-year-old actress was candid about her new venture. Kirsten said she was not concerned about people's opinion on her new role. "I wasn't fearful in confronting what this was about," she said. She also revealed that it was a failed relationship around which her film's plot was based. Whether it was about her breakup with estranged lover Robert Pattinson or not, Stewart didn't elaborate.

"Come Swim" is a story weaved around a man in his late 20's, who drinks redundantly. He drinks anything from anywhere to quench his thirst, which is triggered by a female voice that plagues his head, saying the same things over and again. Themes of dryness and wetness both embroider the film thus defining its symbolism, as the protagonist, played by Josh Kaye, finds himself sometimes at the bottom of the ocean and sometimes crawling past deserted sandy landscapes.

According to In Style, the 17 minutes long film may be a metaphor to Stewart's own breakups including her failed relationship with "Twilight" co-star Pattinson. As per Kirsten, her past writings and poems gave way to the basic idea on which the film was made. Another former lover of Stewart, St. Vincent has created the original score of the film.

"Come Swim" has been funded by Refinery 29 and they will be funding Kirsten's next short film as well. The next one, Stewart says, will be about gun control and it will be thematically quite dark. She also said that her next directorial venture will be made in the style of a music video and will feature an original song.

Stewart remained unmoved by viewer's reaction, whether good or bad. She believes everyone has their own perspective and individual way of looking at things. As she sees it, "Come Swim" is a depiction of dark experiences from her own life, which she admits to be a learning curve for her.
