The Philbrook Museum of Art will play host to a photography exhibition showcasing the works of Lusha Nelson, a forgotten photographer from the bygone era. Nelson's work consists of his exceptional lens work capturing who's who of glamor during the 1930's.

Nelson's area of work has been varied, ranging from glamorous photo shoots of the top celebrities of that time to realistic shots of people and places of New York City as it was in the 1930's. His work was not very widely known except the celebrity images published in Vanity Fair and Vogue. Philbrook museum is bringing forth a retrospective of the photographs received from his archive that amounts to something around 4000 images along with tear sheets from magazines and other memorabilia.

The Philbrook museum of Art, where this exhibition is taking place, is a fitting venue to showcase the beautiful artistry of Lusha Nelson's work. According to Press Reader, the House Beautiful magazine has recognized the museum situated in Tulsa as the most beautiful place in the state of Oklahoma. The magazine's website features "The Most Beautiful Places in all 50 States", under which the title was given to the Philbrook Museum.

Philbrook Museum originally belonged to the oil tycoon Waite Phillips. He and his family lived there for little less than a decade. The beautiful architecture was designed by Edward Delk in Italian Renaissance style in 1927 and was handed over to the city of Tulsa by the Phillips family in 1938 to be used as a center for art exhibition. Currently, it is considered as one of America's finest art museums and has earned it national acclaim for serving more than 150000 visitors annually through avant-garde programming.
